Magda & Magnificent Maple

Magda: Incredibly dedicated, brave, confident!

Joined my mentorship in Nov 2025 after really struggling with Maple's grabby behaviour around dogs when she feels anxious.

Maple: 1 yo Chocolate Labrador

Triggers: Dogs

  • What made you decide to start working with me, and where were you at with your dog when we first began working together?
We felt completely overwhelmed . Maple was a ball of nerves—barking at other dogs, birds that moved on walks. Mainly I started dreading leaving the house as family and myself . We  chose to work with you because your approach is based on truly understanding the dog, not just drilling commands. It was the best lifeline we could have asked for.

  • What were some of the biggest hurdles during the process?
The biggest challenge was actually changing our  own habits. We had to learn patience and accept that progress isn't always a straight line. There were moments of frustration when we had an "off" day, but your constant encouragement, Zoom calls as a group  helped us bounce back quickly every time.

  • How did you find the support and guidance during the mentorship?
Absolutely world-class. We never felt like just another client; we felt like you were genuinely invested in our success. The guidance was practical, easy to follow, and—most importantly—it actually worked in real-life situations, not just in a training hall.

  • Have you seen any changes in your dog’s behaviour since working together?
The transformation in Maple has been night and day! Maple  is so much calmer and looks to us  for guidance now. Walks have gone from a "survival mission" to a genuine pleasure. Even my neighbors have commented on how much more relaxed Maple  has become.

  • What have you learned about your dog?
We  realized that Maple's  "bad behavior" was actually just her trying to communicate her stress, insecurity and her reaction to triggers.  I’ve learned to read Maple body language and understand what she needs to feel safe. I feel like we finally know Maple now, rather than just living with her.

  • What’s been your favourite part about working together?
Those "eureka" moments! Seeing the lightbulb go on in Maple head when she finally understood what we were asking for was incredible. Your positive energy and belief in us kept me motivated even through the tough parts.

  • What would you say to someone considering the mentorship but not quite sure if it’s the right time or investment?
Don’t wait. You can’t put a price on the peace of mind and the bond you’ll build. It’s not just an investment in "training"—it’s an investment in a happy, stress-free life with your best friend. It’s the best decision we had ever made for us and Maple.
